Most workers recover following soft tissue injury and return to their usual work
within 4 weeks of the injury. A proportion of workers does not and suffers long
term disability and work loss.
These injured workers often have difficulty planning how to increase movement and
return to their normal movements (including work).The Fix Program uses work related
activity to assist workers recover from their injury. We follow the WorkCover NSW
soft tissue injury guidelines, using an approach referred to as "integrated active
management" to help our clients recover and achieve a timely, safe and durable return
to work. Active management is aligned with the widely accepted "biopsychosocial
model" of injury management.
The Fix Program has been providing functional rehabilitation programs within the
workers compensation system since 1999. We only employ tertiary qualified physiotherapists
with extensive experience in teaching therapeutic exercise. Each client is placed
in the correct rehabilitation program based on our assessment findings and our liaison
with the rehabilitation case manager and the treating professionals.
